Embedded videos (YouTube)

Some pages include short films hosted on YouTube, a Google service. A film is not loaded until you choose Load video; until then, the page does not connect to YouTube for the film. You can also watch each film directly on YouTube instead, using the link beside it.

When you choose Load video, the film is loaded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Google states that in this mode, watching an embedded film is not used to personalise the viewer's YouTube experience or the advertising shown to them outside this website. Loading the film connects your browser to YouTube, so Google receives technical information such as your IP address, browser details and the address of this website. From the moment the player loads, before you press play, YouTube may store and access information on your device, using cookies or other browser storage such as local storage. Google's privacy policy explains how Google uses that information. Google may process it outside the UK, including in the United States.

Your choice to load a film applies only to that page view; we do not store it. Our cookie settings control analytics only and do not switch YouTube's technologies on or off. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
